SMILE DESIGNING

It is rightly said, 'A smile is a curve that sets everything straight' and nothing matches a beautiful smile. There are a lot of indications for cosmetic treatment of teeth like: - fractured anterior teeth, stained teeth, malaligned teeth (local), gap between teeth. From minor corrections to drastic transformation in your smile, your dentist can bring about a marked change in your smile with myriad treatment options available in today's advanced dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry if very different from orthodontics which involves straightening and aligning teeth with braces for a longer period of time (min 1 year). The procedures carried under cosmetic dentistry are: - Diastema (gap) closure with veneers, crowns and fillings etc.

  • Teeth Whitening/Bleaching: It is a most common cosmetic procedure to whiten your teeth. Bleaching can be done in office or at home under the supervision of your dentist. In office procedure takes 45 min to 1 hour time while home bleaching procedure may take 3-4 weeks to get the desired result.
  • Veneers (porcelain/composite) for stained and hypoplastic teeth: Veneers are the thin layer of porcelain placed over the teeth to change the color and the contour of the teeth to get the desired esthetics. Veneers are mainly used for unevenly placed, discolored or oddly shaped teeth. These are an alternative to crowns and require more than one sitting.
  • Bonding: It is a procedure which is used to fill in gaps and also to change the color of the teeth. Bonded composite resin can be used as a tooth colored filling material for small cavities, slightly decayed or chipped off teeth. It requires a single dental visit and may last for years.
  • Crowns: Crowns are used to cover the teeth and restore the normal shape and contour of the teeth. Crowns have longest life expectancy than any other form of cosmetic treatments but require multiple visits and are more time consuming.
  • Restoring fractured teeth with tooth colored restorations (fillings) or crowns if required.
